Touch Grass

Ride the tide 
Of windy days 
On dandelion seeds 
View the dew
On grassy knolls
Where all adventures lead

Hear the cheers
Of mockingbirds
Hidden in the woods
Stall the fall
Of elder trees
Worth more than paper goods

Fight the blight
Of humankind
Riddled with despair
Fix the sick
And trodden on 
By planting cleaner air

Flirt with dirt
And garden snakes
Wholly down to earth
Chat with bats
Converse with stars
Discover all life’s worth 

Weep to sleep
Or dance ‘til dark
Whatever is the mood
Yearn to learn 
Enjoy the ride
